Terms of Service

Welcome to Katya's Graphic Design service. These Terms & Conditions outline the guidelines for all design and typesetting services provided by Katya Mathieson (“the Designer”) to the client (“the Client”). By engaging my services, you agree to the following terms:

Scope of Services

I provide professional typesetting and document design services, including layout design, brand-aligned formatting, and PDF production for digital and print purposes. Any additional services (such as logo design, content creation, or template development) will be quoted separately.

Payment Terms

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to commence all projects.

  • The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion, prior to delivery of final files.

  • Projects may be paused or delayed if payment milestones are not met.

  • All invoices are due within 7 days of issue unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Late payments may incur a 5% late fee per week overdue.

Revisions & Feedback

  • All projects include up to 2 rounds of feedback unless otherwise specified.

  • Additional rounds of feedback or major scope changes may incur extra costs.

  • Feedback should be provided in writing and within the agreed timeline to avoid delays.

Project Timelines & Client Responsibilities

To ensure timely delivery and efficiency, the Client is expected to provide feedback, approvals, or required materials within 10 business days of receiving a draft or request. If no response is received within this timeframe, the project may be considered complete, and an invoice for the remaining balance will be issued. Any additional work or revisions requested after this point will be treated as a new project and quoted accordingly.

Ownership, Copyright & Usage Rights

  • Full ownership of final design files transfers to the Client only after full payment is received.

  • The Designer retains ownership of all working files, design concepts, and unused drafts.

  • Fonts, images, or licensed assets remain the property of their respective owners.

  • Editable source files (e.g. InDesign packages) are available for an additional fee.

Delivery

  • Final deliverables are supplied as print-ready and web-optimised PDFs via email or secure file transfer.

  • The Client is responsible for final proofing and approval before publication or printing.

  • The Designer is not liable for errors discovered after Client approval.

Printing

  • The Designer does not manage physical printing; however, they will prepare files to the provided print specifications.

  • Any reprints due to third-party printer errors are the Client’s responsibility.

Cancellation & Termination

  • If the Client cancels a project after work has commenced, the initial deposit is non-refundable.

  • Any completed work beyond the deposit value will be invoiced at the current hourly rate.

  • If the project is inactive for 30 days without communication, it may be closed and subject to reactivation fees.

Confidentiality

All client information, files, and materials are kept confidential and will not be shared or disclosed to third parties without written permission.

Portfolio Use

I reserve the right to display completed projects in my portfolio, website, and promotional materials, unless the Client requests otherwise in writing.

Liability

While every effort is made to ensure accuracy and quality, I am not liable for:

  • Errors or omissions once final approval is given.

  • Losses arising from the use or misinterpretation of the final product.

  • Third-party printing or distribution issues.

Force Majeure

I am not liable for delays or non-performance due to events beyond my control, including natural disasters, illness, technical failures, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Amendments

These terms may be updated periodically. Any changes will be posted on this website, and continued use of services implies acceptance of the revised terms.
